Synopsis of my new film idea called 'Still lost'

My film follows a girl called Daisy who from the very beginning is a trapped and lost individual. She’s stuck in a time warp, not able to move or run away any further and move on as she is now held back by her past. Her schooling, family and personal life are strongly falling apart as she struggles to believe her past was in fact, reality. She is permanently stuck. This is apparent by the falling of her school grades and her social life; she’s loosing friends by the day due to her ‘strange’ and ‘weird’ personality and attitude.

Her mother was a strong performance artist who encouraged Daisy to encourage her younger sister, Laura to not take her epilepsy medication and to be exposed to an excessive amount of strobe lighting in front of an audience, calling this ‘performance art.’ Left brain damaged and mentally disabled at the age of ten partly caused by Daisy, she is an alone and struggling individual.

Every so often she receives visits from ambiguous and strange spirits and with each one there is a strong element of hope in which they have come to visit her, to take her away from this place; but they never do. It is only apparent, later on in the story these spirits are in fact her memory and guilt in which she must accept and confront before she is able to succeed and move on with her life.

Influenced by the tragedy of the Haiti earthquake, she, like Haiti has been part let down by our society. The idea and subject of how far must someone or something, have to struggle to be able to have that successful second chance, dealing with the ideas of poverty, greed and wealth. It is also influenced by the public’s affection with Celebrity, how they so commonly slip through the cracks of the public’s fingers, such as Michael Jackson and most recently Casey Johnson in which become a circus in which all they need is help by the society in which crave them.
